ABOUT
Rupert Bullard is an emerging, independent folk artist from Lutruwita/Tasmania. At just 18 years of age, Rupert’s genuine stage presence and resonant songwriting have quickly seen him marked as a rising voice in Australian music. He blends folk sensibilities with shades of country and blues, drawing deeply from the rugged coastlines, ancient forests, and layered histories of his island home. Rupert’s work is atmospheric, expansive, grounded, and inseparable from the land that shapes him.

The release of his self-produced debut, Mountains, Rivers EP, in late 2024 has seen Rupert roll forward with steady momentum. The EP sparked widespread acclaim, leading to national sold-out headline shows, festival appearances, and invitations to perform alongside renowned artists including Ash Grunwald and The Slingers. Rupert’s latest single, Stand By The Land, is a stirring call to action. The track is both a personal anthem and a broader reflection on our collective responsibility to the natural world. Stand By The Land captures Rupert’s prowess as a songwriter, communicating not just his artistic potential but also his identity as a thoughtful cultural contributor. His performances, praised for their intimacy and impact, have earned Rupert features on ABC, PBS and community radio, as well as in publications such as Forte Magazine, Newcastle Live, The Mercury and The Note.

Currently, Rupert is crafting his first full-length album with acclaimed, multi-ARIA Award-nominated producer John Castle (Vance Joy, Paul Kelly, Josh Pyke). The quiet unfolding of their creative partnership, in a sleepy corner of Lutruwita/Tasmania, marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in Rupert’s rapidly expanding career.
