Raised between Virginia and Colombia, Grammy-winning and Latin Grammy-nominated artist Kali Uchis rose to prominence with her project Por Vida in 2015. Uchis’ 2018 debut album, Isolation, received widespread critical acclaim and was featured on Best Of lists in Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, NPR, Vulture and many more. Uchis has collaborated and shared stages with Gorillaz, Jorja Smith, Juanes, Diplo, Major Lazer, Tyler, The Creator, Daniel Caesar, Bootsy Collins, Snoop Dogg, Kaytranada, Leon Bridges and more and has toured the world over, with much-lauded sets headlining Tropicalia and at Coachella, Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza and many others.
In 2020, Uchis released her second album and her first Spanish-language project, Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios) ∞, which is nominated for Best Música Urbana Album at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards. The album features hit track "telepatía," which has accumulated more than 1.8 billion streams after hitting #1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay and Latin Pop Airplay charts and topping Latin Digital Song Sales for ten weeks straight. It is the longest running Spanish-language song by a solo act on the Billboard Hot 100 this decade (23 weeks). In 2021, she won her first Grammy for Best Dance Recording for "10%" with Kaytranada, her first Billboard Latin Music Award for Latin Pop Album of the Year and her first Premios Nuestra Tierra and Univision Premios Juventud awards. She was also nominated for her first Latin American Music Award and performed at the Hispanic Heritage Awards on PBS, where she was also recognized as the 2021 Inspira Honoree.
