NAME:
Cleto Cordero
ABOUT
Cleto Cordero is the frontman and chief songwriter of the acclaimed Texas-based group Flatland Cavalry. Born and raised in the oil lands of Midland, TX, Cordero ventured north at age 20 in search of a dream. While attending Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX, he formed the band along with his childhood friend, Jason Albers. Like his songwriting predecessors before (Josh Abbott, William Clark Green, Wade Bowen and Pat Green) Cordero cut his teeth at the legendary Blue Light Live each Monday for Songwriter Night. It was there he began to hone his craft until the band released their first EP Come May in May 2015. Cleto has since penned all 29 of Flatland's releases along with songs for Josh Abbott Band and The Panhandlers. While many great songwriters have come before him, few can capture the humble, earnest folks who inhabit the land of West Texas and beyond like Cleto Cordero.
