ABOUT
Los Angeles based indie electro duo Capital Cities – Ryan Merchant & Sebu Simonian - got their start writing commercial jingles before shifting their bright and catchy songwriting talents into the world of alt + pop.

Synth-forward, horn-backed hits "Safe and Sound" and "Kangaroo Court" became viral favorites, landing their debut album, In A Tidal Wave of Mystery, on the Billboard 200. The music video to “Safe and Sound” earned them a Grammy nomination + MTV award.

They have racked up almost 2 BILLION streams with millions of followers across socials with scores of international superfans.

Capital Cities have played the world’s biggest festivals, toured North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia - appeared on Fallon, Letterman, Ellen, Kimmel and Conan, and collaborated with the likes of André 3000 and Rick Ross.

Summer 2024 has Capital Cities releasing a series of singles culminating in a full album release in the fall. Titled A Hurricane of Frowns, this is a 17-song collection of unreleased rarities, remixes, and covers. The band is currently finishing up their next studio LP due out early 2025.
